Animal Friends Rescue Project

Too old, too young, shy, sick or injured . . . Animal Friends Rescue Project provides a safety net for the dogs and cats that are deemed the “least adoptable” in the shelter system and gives them a second chance to find loving, lifelong homes. AFRP has a lifetime commitment to all the animals that come into their care, and gives each dog and cat quality, compassionate care until adopted, no matter how long it takes.

Founded in 1998, AFRP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Pacific Grove, California. Supported by a network of dedicated volunteers and community members, AFRP completes approximately 1,200 adoptions per year, and saves the lives of an additional 1,500 at-risk shelter animals per year through their innovative Life Link Transport Program.
