Watch aficionados have always liked the timepieces that have drawn inspiration from sources such as designer brands, as shown in our coverage for ‘Luxury watches inspired by classic cars‘ and adding further to the list is this special edition watch from Tudor, based on Ducati sports bikes. Based on the traditional red and black colors of Ducati, this time piece is meant to mark the partnership of the bike maker and the watch manufacturer, who will now be the official timekeeper of Ducati.
Making its presence felt with the bright red and black color tone, the watch comes with 42mm steel casing with polished satin finish. The tachometric scale has been engraved on the outer steel rim of the watch, which details out speed of movement. The main movement of the watch is powered by the self-winding mechanism, which never lets time display lag behind, and has a total power reserve of 46 hrs before the next required recharge. The winding screw on the side of the watch, which helps control the movements inside, comes engraved with the Tudor logo other than the one placed at the upper part of the dial. Other distinctive feature includes the 2 totalisers, a 30 minute totaliser placed at the 3’o’clock mark, and the 12 hour totaliser placed at the 6 ‘o’ clock mark. The dial also has been highlighted by the use of sapphire crystal, adding to the final finish of the chassis of the timepiece. Just in case you encounter moisture and drop the watch in water, do not worry as the water resistance goes deep till a depth of 500 metres. The strap which makes this marvel fit your wrist can be selected from 2 options; leather and steel, as per your tastes. To get hold of this rugged timepiece, you would have to shell out between $4143 to 4379, depending on the customization options.
Since modern time pieces have been an area of interest especially with the fast moving youth of today, this Ducati timepiece will strike a chord with them, due to its imposing presence and technical functionalities.
